Quakers arrive in Boston.

(Aug.) The four men and four women are arrested, jailed, and deported. Soon after, the General Court orders that all Quakers are to have their ears cut off or tongues pierced with a hot iron. A year later, the penalty for being a Quaker is increased to death.
